 Major Field Course Credits
    • EE 5XXX and EE 8XXX count for major field credit
    • Cross-listed Courses should be registered as Electrical Engineering. If
       enrollment is closed in Electrical Engineering, you may register in the
       cross-listed department.
    • EE 8965 Plan C Project and EE 8967 Plan C Project II do not count for major
      field credit.
    • EE 4XXX classes do not count for major field credit.
    • Seminars and special investigations classes do not count for major field credit.
    • Non-CSE courses must be approved in advance of taking them in order to be
      counted toward degree requirements.

    * 14 credits if graduate entry date is before Fall 2012

Credits

 Minor/Related Field Course Credits
     • Students who wish to complete a designated minor (which is certified on the
       transcript—unlike the related fields option, which is not) must complete 6 or
       more credits in a single field. The EE department requires minor courses to
       be in the lecture/exam format. Seminars, special investigations or directed
       studies type courses will not be counted toward minor field course requirements.
    • Non-EE 4000 Level courses acceptable for Graduate Credit apply toward the
      6 credit minor/related field requirement
    • CSci 5204, CSci 8205, ME 5281, ME 5361, ME 8282, AEM 8401, AEM 8421
      are cross-listed courses with EE and do not count toward the related/minor field
      course requirement.
    • Seminars, special investigations, and directed studies classes do not count toward
       the related/minor field course requirement.
    • Non-CSE courses must be approved in advance of taking them in order to be counted
       toward degree requirements.
    • Electrical Engineering courses do not count toward the Minor/Related Field
      requirement.

Credits

 Additional Major or Minor/Related Field Course Credits

    • EE 8965 Plan C Project and EE 8967 Plan C Project II count toward the remaining
      10 credits.
    • Six credits of EE 4XXX Regular/Special Topics or Lab Courses (excluding: senior
           design/co-op/independent study) count for major field credit.
               -ME 5281 (EE 4231) Linear Control Systems Laboratory, count toward the
                  six credit EE 4XXX requirement.
               -AEM 5495 (EE4231) Linear Control Systems: Designed by Input/Output
                   Methods, count toward the six credit EE 4XXX requirement.
    • Non-EE 4000 Level Courses acceptable for Graduate Credit apply toward the
      additional major or minor/related field course credits.
    • Can include up to two credits total from the following:
          seminars (but not EE 8970-80, or colloquiums)
          special investigations/directed study
    • EE8965 Plan C project        
    • Non-CSE courses must be approved in advance of taking them in order to be counted
      toward degree requirements.
