The Electric Energy Systems group at the University of Minnesota has two primary focus areas - Reforming Education and Research.
The goal of this project is to develop a workforce with a forward-looking education, emphasizing Renewables/Storage, Smart Delivery and Efficient End-use.
With grants from the Office of Naval Research (ONR), National Science Foundation (NSF) and Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), we have developed curriculum with supporting textbooks and labs in Power Electronics, Electric Drives and Power Systems. This curriculum has been adopted by 97 university courses nationwide.
