The University of Minnesota offers a Bachelors of Computer Engineering (B.Comp.E.) degree. This program is a joint offering of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and the Computer Science and Engineering Department. It combines most of the core courses of electrical engineering and computer science to provide a solid foundation in hardware and software aspects of digital systems enabling them to build careers in the many areas of computer engineering and, in addition, it prepares them to work in many of the areas of electrical engineering and computer science. The technical elective courses allow students to concentrate in subfields of computer engineering including computer architecture, computer networks, computer design, microprocessor systems, computer-aided design, design of systems for VLSI, and more.
