RESEARCH ASSISTANTS

Research Assistantship positions are determined by individual professors. The positions are funded from the research grants awarded to faculty mem-bers to support their research. Qualified students should contact faculty members directly to seek these positions; use the faculty list available in the back of this handbook which lists faculty research interests. Some, but not all, professors announce research assistantship positions via email and post the position on the department’s graduate student bulletin board. Since not all professors advertise positions in this way, contact faculty directly to see if any positions are available. The project carried out by the research assistant may be used to satisfy dissertation requirements, subject to advisor approval.
