B. COMPUTING FACILITIES

Currently the Computer Science and Engineering department maintains some labs and computing areas which Computer Engineering graduate students may apply to have access to. Please contact the Computer Science and Engineering department for more information at 625-4002.


C. CENTER FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING SERVICES

The Center for Teaching and Learning Services provides services for Teaching Assistants and prospective Teaching Assistants who are non-native speakers of English and interested in improving their classroom communication skills; both individual and group sessions are available. For non-native speakers of English who are graduate students needing to fulfill the University of Minnesota Policy on Oral Proficiency for Teaching Assistants, the Center offers a multi-semester sequence of courses.

D. THE COUNCIL OF GRADUATE STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA (COGS)

COGS has created several graduate student resources which can be downloaded from their web site. These include: "Navigating Your First Year" and a "Survival Guide". An additional guide for upper level graduate students and faculty will be available soon.

E. MICROSOFT WORD 6 TUTORIAL: WRITING A THESIS OR DISSERTATION

The University of Minnesota does not have a tutorial available for graduate students to aid in writing of the thesis. Students are encouraged to see the tutorial from the University of Michigan Library, Writing a Dissertation with Microsoft Word 6.0. The tutorial is in .PDF format and may be downloaded at the following website:
