My broad research interests lie in the area of communication theory and its application to the design and performance evaluation of cellular radio mobile, satellite, and optical communication systems. I am particularly interested in developing digital communication techniques for multimedia and high data rate wireless services in multiple-user time-varying environments, with specific application to cellular and indoor communication systems, as well as very small aperture terminal (VSAT) and land-mobile satellite communications. Current specific interests include statistical characterization and modeling of fading channels, performance analysis of diversity techniques, capacity analysis of single carrier and multicarriers code division multiple access (CDMA) systems, and design and performance evaluation of adaptive modulation schemes.
