My research is directed primarily towards the theory of novel semiconductor devices. This area includes both ultra-fast electronic and optoelectronic devices. I am furthermore interested in materials properties of semiconductor heterostructures and superlattices. The work extends from the analysis of new device concepts to the development of analytical and numerical models for semiconductor devices that are currently being fabricated in research and development laboratories. An example in the area of optoelectronic devices is represented by light modulators based on the unique optical properties of superlattices. The work on fast electronic devices is exemplified by the development of a better understanding of performance limiting physical phenomena in heterostructure field effect transistors.
