RETURN HOMESynchronous machine operating characteristicsThe steady-state characteristics of a round-rotor synchronous machine are described by means of phasor diagrams. Drag the red circle E and deposit it anywhere in the complex plane, thereby establishing an operating point and showing the corresponding vector diagram. Terminal voltage is adjusted by dragging point V_{s} along the real axis. The machine is represented by a reactance X_{s} (Armature resistance is neglected in this model). The parameters are expressed in the per-unit system and motor convention is adopted. © M. Riaz |
