INDUCTION MOTOR
Three-phase sinusoidal balanced
excitation in 3 stator phases produces a sinusoidally
distributed field rotating at the excitation frequency. This field can be
viewed as being created by a single equivalent sinusoidal winding which is
excited with dc current and which is also rotating. The corresponding rotating
stator current space vector is shown. The red hue indicates that the field is
directed into the stator while the blue denotes a direction pointed toward the
rotor. The more intense the color the higher is the field intensity.
