I am a research associate professor in Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Minnesota, where I am collaborating with Professor Georgios Giannakis and other colleagues in the SPiNCOM Group. Before joining here, I worked for NEC Labs America in Princeton, New Jersey, as a Research Staff Member. My main collaborator at that time was Professor Xiaodong Wang in Columbia University. I received my Ph.D. from University of California at Santa Barbara, and my M.S. and B.S. degrees from Seoul National University in South Korea.

My research interest lies in applying various signal processing, optimization, and learning techniques to the problems in communications, networking, and beyond. The settings of particular interest currently are cognitive radio networks and the Smart Grid.
