The Electric Energy Systems - Prof. Mohan's group at the University of Minnesota has two primary focus areas - Reforming Education and Research.

Reforming Education

The goal of this project is to develop a workforce with a forward-looking education, emphasizing Renewables/Storage, Smart Delivery and Efficient End-use.

With grants from the Office of Naval Research (ONR), National Science Foundation (NSF) and Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), we have developed curriculum with supporting textbooks and labs in Power Electronics, Electric Drives and Power Systems.

CUSP™ Course Modules

CUSP™ is a Consortium of Universities for Sustainable Power. This consortium will include universities that have come together to utilize, collectively evolve and promote the curriculum developed at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities with the help of funding from various organizations including NSF, ONR (Office of Naval Research), NASA and EPRI. The online video modules developed are now available at http://cusp.umn.edu/.
