Janet Fransen

Biographical Sketch:
Janet Fransen is an assistant librarian at the University of Minnesota, where she is the liaison for Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and History of Science & Technology. Jan attended the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1986 with a BS in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics and a BA in Speech-Communication. Jan combined her technical skills with her interest in teaching and creating tools to build a career in the software industry, where she worked as a consultant, trainer, and writer until 2008. At that time, with a Masters of Library and Information Science from Dominican University, Jan returned to the University of Minnesota as a librarian. 21st century librarianship allows her to combine her interest in technology with her passion for bringing together people and the resources they need.
